Fabrications
Here at SGS we offer a general fabrication service to meet our customer’s needs. We offer both in-house and on site fabrications depending on our customer needs and customer specifications. Our in-house workshop is kitted out with the latest fabricating and welding technology, from cropping and punching equipment to mig welding and plasma cutting. Our on-site technicians are trained to the current industry standard and use up to date and tested equipment.
Recent Projects
This project is for a local farmer who we have an on-going relationship with and have done for over 20 years. The project consisted of clearing metal fencing damaged by a car accident and levelling the ground ready to install the new bespoke fencing in its place. The fencing itself was specially made in our workshop for this project due to the fact that the fencing could no longer be purchased ‘off the shelf’.
Here we have a project recently completed for SITA UK. The project involved creating a protective barrier to protect employees whilst walking through warehouse where forklifts and other plant machinery are moving around which could endanger them. These barriers could be used in many other areas and for many different applications i.e. to protect walls which may be struck by plant machinery.
Here is a project recently completed for SITA where SGS made concrete tipping bays for recycling products i.e. glass and paper. These bays were designed so they can be taken down and moved at low cost and in a short time frame. The construction is through steel RSJ’s with floor mounted pads which are then in filled with reinforced concrete panels to complete the bays.
This project was for FCC environmental where they required secure fencing to be erected around the perimeter of one of their quarry/landfill sites. This was a specialised job due to the terrain and the ground in which the fence was being erected. SGS offers both complete installation and repair of palisade fencing as well as other types of security fencing (see below).
Here is a recent project for FCC where we constructed a secure compound to house generators and electrical circuitry in a remote area where security is an issue and where CCTV is unavailable. Here we have used anti-climb fence to further increase the security of the compound.
This recent project is where SGS fabricated large hoppers for a SITA site in Birmingham for their waste paper recycling bailers. The hoppers allow large bulk holding for continuous flow into the bailers. We also do such work for Hanson to feed aggregates into their bagging processers.
Here we can see a project again for SITA, which is on-going for a number of their landfill. SGS are making landfill screens to collect any rubbish that is blown around their sites. These netted frames are movable by either a forklift or loading shovel and can be moved dependent on wind direction.
